Toshio Yamaguchi graduated from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, in 1973 and received his PhD degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1978 (S.53). After terms as a research fellow in 1978 at Tokyo Institute of Technology and a postdoctral fellow at Gothenburg University, Sweden, from 1979 to 1982 and a research associate at Tokyo Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1986, he was appointed Associate Professor of Fukuoka University in 1986, and then promoted to a full Professor in 1994. He was invited to Max Planck Institute at Mainz, Germany, as a guest research fellow in 1985, to the Institute for Molecular Science as a Guest Associate Professor from 1989 to 1991, and to University of Gothenburg, Sweden, as a Guest Professor in 1989, etc.

1 Structure and Dynamics of Supercritical Fluids
Microscopic structure, translational and rotational motions of solvents, density fluctuation near the critical point on water, alcohol, and aqueous electrolyte solutions have been investigated over a wide range of temperature and pressure by X-ray and neutron diffraction, small-angle X-ray and neutron diffraction, NMR relaxation.2 Cluster Structure and Dynamics of Binary Solutions of Water and Organic Solvents
Structure and dynamics of clusters in binary solutions of water and organic solvents such as alcohols, acetonitrile, dioxane, etc. have been investigated by mass spectrometry, X-ray and neutron diffraction, and NMR relaxation.3 Decomposition Reactions of Chlorinated Organic Wastes by Supercritical Water
The mechanism and rate of reactions related chlorinated organic compounds have been investigated by in-situ Raman spectroscopy.4 Formation of Crystalline Fine Particles from Supercritical Water
Crystallization process of fine particles of metal oxides in supercritical water has been investigated by time-resolved X-ray diffraction combined with CCD detector and synchrotron radiation.5 Protein Folding in Water-Alcohol Binary Solvents
Structural correlation between transformation of b-sheets to a-helix of Chymotrypsin Inhibitor 2 and solvent clusters in water-ethanol binary solutions has been investigated by CD, small-angle X-ray and
neutron scattering.6 Local Structure of Multi-nuclear Metal Complexes as Model Enzymes at Different Oxidation States in Solution
The local structure of trinuclear Ru2M and tetra nuclear MoFe complexes as model enzymes has been determined at different oxidation states in solution by in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy combined with an in-situ electrochemical cell.7 Structure and Dynamics of Liquids Confined in Meso Porous Materials
Structure and dynamics of water, alcohol, acetonitrile, etc. confined in porous materials such as MCM-41 have been investigated by X-ray and neutron diffraction, neutron quasi-elastic scattering, and NMR relaxation.8 Structure of Surfactant Micelles in Water and Water-Alcohol Binary Solutions
Structure and dynamics of MEGA-8 micelles have been investigated by small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering, molecular dynamics simulation, and dynamic light scattering.
